Default Gain response from smaller chargepipe?

My pipe right before the throttle body is a 3" pipe from a Drag kit. If i swap to a smaller pipe, say the size of the rest of the ic pipes, will i gain a good bit more response?

The top pipe on a DRAG kit is 2.5", not 3" ... reducing the diameter of the pipe will not result in any notable gains in response. It would probably be cheaper to swap the turbine housing for a .48 ar housing. Response will improve signifigantly, although it may decrease top end a bit depending on your partcular application.
