it helps that Brady(car's owner/driver) is a kick *** driver with almost as much track time as GOD........
either way congrats
now lets see a full race time attack turbo honda.....................

nice but I think a 2JZ swap would have been even better, especially since you have a motor and tranny capable of 700/800whp stock.
But thats a mean and simple car none the less, great job.

I like it, there good numbers on the stock cams. To reap the benefits of the gt2871r you definitely will need to upgrade them as you are basically at the flow limit of the stock cams now. I have a 2871r on my s14 and have hit a brick wall with the stock cams. Yes definitely better value then turbo hondas.
Interesting string to find in here .
Someone here in Australia recently asked my opinion on a good street turbo for an RB25DET powered R33 skyline GTs25T . I reckoned the GT28RS was a tad small on comp flow for 2.5L six so suggested the Garrett GT2871R but ONLY in its smallest 48 compressor trim version which is not hard to find and bypasses the expensive High Kost Spec pricetag .
My opinion only but going any larger in diametre or trim than the 48T 71mm GT35 compressor is going over the top for the GT28 53.8mm NS111 turbine . I had great times with a GT28RS on a 2L Nissan FJ20ET with Robs suggested .86AR ratio turbine housing . That GT35 comp only gives about 3-4 odd more pounds of airflow than the RS's 62T 60mm wheel but how much do you need in these situations ? A wide killer mid range engine is what tends to be most competitive particularly with production gearing .
If you wanted to have all its dogs barking I'd think about port shrouding the TO4B comp cover on the GT2871R 48T .
Cheers A .

A skyline GTR front clip can be had for ~4grand on ebay (no cool guy hookup) This includes the Inline 6 RB26 Engine with ITBs, Transmission, front driveshaft, front axles, front diff, front suspension, turbos, intercooler, ECU, injectors, MAF (x2), harness, HUGE brakes, huge master cyl... if you get the rear diff too with it (Which you will need) there is your BEEFY axles, clutch pack LSD, sick rear brakes, etc. Oh and my OS Giken twin disc clutch was 360$ on ebay...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...QrdZ1
thats a complete GTR front clip on ebay for 4k
Good luck just finidng an ITR clip for 4 grand! Also think about how much it will cost to make the power that the RB has, and even then it wont be able to do it on crap gas, it wont be able to have sick response, it will have puny brakes, and its still fwd. Im 26 years old now, im ready for something other than a fwd car that does burnouts at all times. I really want to smoke supras, and its a whole lot easier with an iron block I6 and AWD in a car the weight of a prelude</TD></TR></TABLE>
4 grand is a sick price for an RB26, I dont buy motors off ebay but who cares. All you have to do is add another 4+ grand for the install and you are all good to go. If I had an old AWD Skyline then the RB26 would be the way to go. The reason they sell for the exact same price as the RB25 is because no one wants them. Why, because there next to impossible to swap. Id take a 2JZ over it ANY day just because its RWD and will cost less money for more power. Not to mention the 2JZ would be a US spec motor and that helps pass inspection where I live.
Overall parts for a 240/SR are NO cheaper then for a honda.

2JZ isnt AWD, and most importantly, you cant race it in ANY sanctioned racing classes. Racing a nissan car means you need a nissan engine to be legal

another update, and a new track record...
9/9/06

Phoenix Intl. Raceway - With the white time attack 240SX being in the shop for some paint work, Full Race driver Brady Dohrmann piloted a different car - a former Speedvision World Challenge 240SX in the super competitive NASA Time Trial series this past weekend at PIR.
Running in Class E, Brady and the 240SX sought out to beat the 1:20.25 record set in December 2005. Things weren't looking good on Thursday night however as the #72 car started leaking fluid from the power steering rack. Pulling off a miracle, John and CJ from Full Race managed to source another quick-ratio steering rack - something that isn't easy to do at 10pm at night, in order to get the car fixed for the weekend.
In only the 2nd track session of the day on Saturday, the record was obliterated with the 240SX turning a 1:14.5 lap. That record wouldn't stand long however as Brady managed to break it three more times during the weekend. The #72 car started 4th of 13 on the grid for the TT Shootout Sunday afternoon, eventually turning in a 1:13.616 to solidify the record.

This is the 2nd track record for Full Race, as the white 240SX also holds a different class record with a 1:07.3, which was set at the Super Street Qualifier back in May 2006.
Special thanks go out to John and CJ for all the hard efforts put into fixing this car to make it ready for the weekend! The #72 car logged almost 140 laps in two days with no problems.
