Fuel system question???(did a search)
I'll try to make this short. I am making my own turbo kit for a B16A2 civic si. I have RC310 injectors, walboro 255lph intank pump, stock fpr, v-afc and i am going to buy a vortech fmu. I was going to buy a 10:1 or 12:1 but not sure which? I also see that most turbo kits come with an inline pump. Do i need that with this setup? If so which one should i get? I want to run 8lbs of boost on a stock motor w/a T3/TO4E for now. Thanks for your help!!
I would recommend an inline pump if u are going to stay with the FMU route. There are numerous posts about inline pumps but I think most people recommend the bosch. Also the stock fpr is fine...the 310's will idle with the afc.
yeah, the 310s work well in idle from what ive been told on the forum. get an inline rather than an intank. bosche works well ive heard. i got the one from the drag3 kit and it works fine as well. ive head different opinions about getting a 8:1 and a 10:1 to go with the 310s. so its up to you to decide what will work best for you. try buying both rates and taking it to the dyno to see what works best.
I did another search and found ALOT OF INFORMATION on this topic. It seems that there is no sure way (intank, inline or both) mostly personal preferance. If i buy the wrong fmu can i just order a differant plate or disc from vortech? ie 8:1 or 10:1 or do i need to buy a new fmu. Thanks again. For those who have no luck with searches try "archived topics" Thats been working much better for my searches.
You can buy a recalibration kit from vortech for like $50 and it has a bunch of different disks(12:1, 10:1, etc.) I use an 8:1 disk w/ 310's. About the fuel pumps, I would play it safe and get an inline pump for an FMU setup and an intank for a standalone. I use an inline and it works fine.
