FUEL SUMP, slight rust
had my tank sumped a few weeks back and it kinda just sat around and i didnt put anything in the holes cause the car has just sat in the garage. i poked my finger in the hole and there is slight surface dust rust in there. I immediatly poured some gas in and blocked off the holes to let it run it slowly. Will i just need to flush. I dont know if it will wash away with the fuel or not?
after the gas sat in there, overnight i put my finger in there and there was a tiny little bit of fuel still in there and i rubbed my finger in there and i couldnt get anything to show up on my finger. Will the gas dissolve it.

Re: FUEL SUMP, slight rust (SPOOLINmatt)
when you sumped the tank, did you coat the inside with anything? if not, you need to get it coated with some gas tank coating. i dont know the name of it, its been so long since i did mine. but as long as you have gas in it, i dont see why it will start to rust, but best bet is to get it coated and not have to worry about it. you just pour it in and slosh it around, pour out the excess, and repeat a couple times. let each coat dry for a while. there should be directions when you get the coating.

hmmm ill check into that stuff, they didnt coat it. the tank is already on the car. it just had a slight rust layer so i poured gas in it. i know it wont rust anymore with something in there. im gonna get caps to cap off the sump and then fill it up pretty good to fill the sump.
