Fuel pump off then on??
Hello all and thanks for the help in advance...
Ive had this problem before in a simalar way but not like last night. I took my built b16 boosted to the track when i would turn the key the fuel pump would prime but when i would try to start the car it would drop to 0psi....i would pull the main relay unhook the battery and it would fire up..Letting it sit there and idle in the stage lanes it was fine but when you would try to turn it off and start it no pump???
Has anyone had this problem before ive check my grounds...and today the car started up fine with no issues? is it carma? or should i be looking for somthing? Thanks

This can be a few things.
My guess is either a bad relay or the main capacitor in your ecu is going bad. It is not allowing the ecu to prime the pump.
When this happens does the car throw a constant check engine light?

I'm having the same problem. i thought the problem was my killswitch was not working properly. checked it and that wasn't the problem. in my case, i found that wiggling my fuel pump wire would cut the power to the pump or give it power. I'm pretty sure i have a short some where but i haven't had any time to do re wire it

i had to do the same thing last time i was at the track. have to wait a couple minutes and then the pump would start working again to be able to start it back up. its only done this like twice a year...but still very odd. main relay soldering is good and so is all wiring. the pump is only a couple thousand miles old.

You're probably best off rewiring right off the alternator with a relay and a switch.</TD></TR></TABLE>
Its a 1992 Da obd1 nothing is hacked all pluged in...I was going to wire it to a new relay but, if its doing that somthing is wrong, and i would rather work the bugs out..im going to try to find a short somewhere..

do you have a kill switch? the reason i ask is because my female connectors to the switch had burnt up causing a bad connection. i have been experinceing the same thing as you have for a few months now. so all i did was re wired the connections to the switch yesterday and problem solved.

mine did it again yesterday.. impretty sure its the solder connections inside the main relay. VERY VERY common problem on older hondas. my old accord did the same thing until i resoldered the main relay. im gonna pull mine off tommorow and check it.

Re: (mike93eh2)
main relays are known for doing this, the solder cracks and expands when heated during the summer and is known for causing problems
