So I got a 97 ex coupe an I replaced the stock pump with a 255 (the car is turbo ) now every once in a while at a stop sign the car will fall rpms an stall out so I turn the key wait for the pump to kick on an nothing. Sometimes it will kick on ill go to start it an it will start but it seems like the pump lost power an it will shut right off .. I got outa the car pushed it back a little went to start it an started fine .. When the pump was replaced the plastic Peace fell off so we just Reattached it not sure if that would be the problem but sounds a lot like a ground I have a new battery an Alternator .. I did notice when I roll the windows down the rpms Flutter until I release the button

Check your main relay. Its probably going bad. Will cause the fuel pump not to prime and/or cut out. I rarely see those pumps go bad.

Main relay is on passenger side, under the dash, i believe above the ECU.

 

Could be a loose or bad ground as well. Check all of those first, then test the relay.
