Default fuel pressure

ok here's the story... i just turboed my 91 hatch with a gsr swap the car has not been tuned but i noticed that it has been hard to start this just started and the fuel pressure gauge does not read anything. the car ran fine and the gauge worked before. so i clamped off the return line just behind the fuel pressure regulator and the gauge went up and maxed out and the car shut off. so i know the gauge works. the fuel pump is a walbro 255 and fuel pressure regulator is a b&m kit that uses the stock regulator housing. the fuel rail is stock and the injectors are 880 precision. would having no pressure cause the car to be hard to start and would this be part of the reason that it sputters (i know alot of it has to do with the car not being tuned)when you give the car throttle under load. i changed out the fuel pressure regulator today thinking that the diaphram is bad in the regulator and still could not get pressure to read on the gauge. the screw is almost all the way down on the regulator. what should i do now? also i am using s300 computer. possible bad fuel pump? i can hear it come on and cycle before starting the car.

with bigger injectors you cant expect it to run right.
