someone told me the accel software is weird. basically theres different levels of software, which allow you to different things. like novice, intermediate, and master software. i also heard that they had issues with their wideband initially. that was a long time ago, maybe the got their stuff all together now.
huh? There isnt any different levels of software with Accel. Well anyways, Accel DFI Gen 7 is pretty nice. The system is more appealing to the eye.

ek,

I just checked my source (very reliable), and there is a Pro level software.

The Pro level software has several windows which control very advanced parameters not accessable by the standard software. What these parameters are I don't know, but it does exist.

I was incorrect about the novice software though. To clearify, the Calmap software actually allows a tuner to selectively password certain features locking out the end user. Personally, I think that sucks, but I'm sure many professional tuners would disagree. What it basically allows a tuner to do is prevent the end user from sharing or altering calibrations, making the end user entirely dependant on the tuner, which ultimately means more money in his pocket.

Wow, this is very interesting! I thought i went to every possible screen on my DFI, but I guess not. What can it be? I mean I have access to all the vital parameters and even the misc parameters such as the 2-step control.

You know I think you might have mistaken some thing. Your tuner might have locked you out of those screens. I do know of tuners that lock or password protect certain screens so you can't get in and look at thier work or mess with it.

Find out for sure what those "Advanced" features are because I would like to know for myself.

im guessing you can control at what angle you want to fire the injectors, like the motec. I don't own the gen7, so this is merely speculation. but basically, according to my source they said that those screens allow you to change parameters that are normally locked in firmware of other systems. Maybe you have the Pro software and don't even know it. I'm guessing all certified EMICs would have it.

Anyone here ever run the TEC 2 or TEC 3 setups. I've heard good things, but I'm not sure how the system sits with the Hondas.

ld have it.

It is a sequential unit. If you look under File, I noticed a password option but I didn't pay much attention to it. If that's the case, I would make sure your tuner does not do that to you! I know mines not. Never the less, anyone who is intrested in a stand alone should look into the Gen 7. Go download the sample on there site
