Fuel Cut Strategy of the ECU - Any thoughts?
Didn't realize I had posted this in the Tech section...when I meant to post it here as its more relevant.
Awhile back (EnDyn Board), I was reading on how cutting fuel in a high-vacuum situation is not ideal (as the Honda ECU does do this when you let of the throttle and coast) for a turbo. Reason being, was that cutting fuel could lead to a lean situation and blow your engine. Timing being cut/pulled back, apparently, was the key to keep things in check in this area.
Is this a real issue that needs to be addressed for the people running the stock ECU and fuel mod devices?

Is this just not an issue with a stock ECU....or am I reading into this too much?

Many turbo cars use a fuel cut to prevent over reving, over boosting, and speed limiting. It's definately not ideal, as you can enter into a lean condition, even if it's only for a short time. If you're like me, you don't want that anytime.
You can address this with one of two ways:
Don't hit your rev limiter. However, if you have a lot of power, you'll be riding it through first gear, so that may not be possible.
-or-
Install a MSD Soft Touch box. This particular box has interchangable pills which can set your rev limiter whereever you'd like - as long as it's at or below the stock rev limiter (with Hondata, you can set that whereever you'd like), and this rev limiter cuts spark, making it nearly harmless to hit the limiter.
Hope that helps.

I think hes talking about how when you decelerate (foot completely off the gas, and RPM above idle), the ecu pulls ALL fuel for fuel efficiency and emisions. Damn clean hondas
