fried ecu help! dont know what happend
alright so last night my friend calls me and says he is stuck and his car wont start. so i go and try to help him. everyone is like hey try using your ecu in his car. so im like ok cant hurt. i pop it in he goes to start the car and smoke starts pooring out of the ecu. im like wtf and unplug it real quick. i try it back in my car its a no go. it starts the car but its running at like 20:1 AFR (i have a wideband mounted) and it sounds like its on to cylinders. so i try his ecu in my car and it works perfect. so what cause mine to fry and not his?

your friend might had his IAT sensor plugged into the purge solenoid and the purge solenoid switch plugged into the IAT sensor. this will fry the IAT circuitry
