Default Fraudluent material?... or authentic?

I've recently bought a Garrett turbo (or what I thought was a Garrett turbo), but when I received it, it didn't say Garrett anywhere on it. Instead, it had XSPower on the housing casting. I was told by the seller that XSPower is the name Garrett used before it became "Garrett". My question to you guys is whether any of that is true... if it's knock-off / fraudulent material... and overall dependability of XSPower turbos. I have a bad feeling that this stuff is crap, but don't know how to tell for sure. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanx!

Unfortunately you have NOT purchased a real Garrett turbo.

XSpower is in fact NOT Garrett's old name.

As for how good the turbo you have is... search under "XSpower" and "SSautochrome". There have been 10,000,000 threads on these knockoffs and you'll find everything you ever wanted to read and more.

Sorry you got ripped off

Please get a refund asap if you can.

Airresearch and garrett are related, however xspower is not

That sucks man. I had a brand new T3/T04E 57 trim in my hands yesterday. Guy was asking $500, which was a descent deal for a brand new turbo. I then saw the box. XSPower. I gave the guy back the turbo and told him I had heard nothing but bad things about them.

He tried to reassure me that they were good on low boost.

I said no, I'm building a 400whp SOHC, I'm not going to use a turbo that's more than likely going to break and may possibly cause me some sort of bodily harm by spinning off the compressor wheel, go shooting through my block, into the cab of my car, and cut me in half.
