Flex pipe on downpipe yes or no?

engineering = "the discipline dealing with the art or science of applying scientific knowledge to practical problems"

scientific knowledge = air flows better over smooth surfaces.

My design is almost perfectly smooth inside (I'll post a photo for you some day)

practical problem = ordinary flex joints are ribbed on the inside, ribbing hurts flow

solution = the piece I engineered..
