Full boost at around 3000rpm. This turbo spools like a bitch. And keeps going. I want to up the boost though

you might free up some more hp if you get a better exhaust. Was that dyno with a stock catylac convertor?

Torque seems low, why do you suppose that?

Yes. It's a great all around turbocharger that's not going to break the bank You can turn up the boost some more but I am sure you are happy with it as is. The exhaust, along with a couple other things, is hurting your torque and horsepower but as I said above you should be happy for now.

I want to turn up the boost a bit I am looking for a 10psi spring right now. This dyno is a mustang dyno, and I heard that you have to add a bit more power to get the equivelancy of a dynojet. Is this true?

torque is low because you have no cat, more flow means less backpressure

lol, no. Backpressure has nothing to do with it, backpressure has nothing to do with it in an N/A car. If anything having no cat would make more torque, because the turbo would spool quicker.

242hp at 8psi on a GSR motor is really low? If it's on a LS then that's about right

My tuner said that if I ditch my piece of **** exhaust and put 3" piping it will be a dramatical increase in hp. he said around 10hp. as well it's on a conservative tune so the timing is not too advanced. He put it for a very streetable tune, not too aggressive. I'll go back with my new setup and then we will see.

Funny. I'll just mess around with this one till she blows and then buy a built block. Dont worry Benjithx you'll sell it, There are plenty of people who need a sleeved block.

242hp @ 8psi on a GSR is not low on a Mustang Dyno.

might? WTF....that right there would be like a 20whp gain.....

Awsome man...

But I'm also betting money that you don't see 8si by 3000rpm's with that exhaust and 2.5" Downpipe......

be carefu wid ur a/f ratio if u change the exh, if it makes a big difference flow wise and if it hurting u so much now, u can bet it will effect the a/f ratio dramatically.

mustang dyno = 3-4 % less then dynojet

my dyno (b18c, eagle rods, stock comp je pistons, drag kit @ 10psi)

279 whp @ 7200 rpm
218 ft lbs @ 6800 rpm

best time so far is 11.7 @ 116 mph w/ my girlfriend in the car video tapping

the track is open tonight, hopfully better times today....
this is in a 89 crx si
(15 x 24.5 welds)

the car went 11.9 @ 113 w/ 8psi with the stock motor last year, finally blew after 2 years.... was only making 235 whp and 181 ft lbs on a dynojet ( rings were going)

I will double check, but I'm pretty sure it's not many more rpm if any.

Mustang Dyno can do unloaded (Dyno Jet) numbers. I have found a 5% - 7% difference in power between loaded and unloaded pulls on a Mustang Dyno. It seems like people on here think Dyno Jet's are superior to Mustang Dyno's
