Default Find out the problem of MSD Boost Retard

Ok one day, I took a ride on my Civic with Greddy Turbo kit.. I have MSD timing boost retard, profec b, Apex VAFC, Hayame Fuel Rail with GSR injectors, and Oil cooler kit.. So when I crank up the 10 pound of boost with Profec B.. I feel the boost spool quicker all the way up to 5,000 RPM and then boost wont spool quicker.. I dont know what happen. So I checked the MSD boost timing retard and it is 6 degree timing.. I changed the timing to 2 degree.. Then I take a ride again and finally now it is full boost all the way up to 7200 RPM.. I found out the problem is the MSD boost timing retard.. Is anyone have problem for MSD Boost timing retard..

I had a MSD BTM and when it was set at ZERO, the car was working. When I tried to dial a bit of boost tretard (as few as 0.5 degrees / psi) then the car bugged badly as soon as boost got on. I think it was actually detonating like crazy, as if timing was completely out of wack. It might be at this opportunity that I broke my piston ring lands...

I got rid of the BTm and added a thicker head gasket to eliminate the need to retard timing. Works fine.

I have my timing at stock and use the btm to retard .25 degrees per pound of boost.

If you have the retard set to high, it comes down to you now having a lot of retard at say 10psi which is also bad...

.25deg/psi seems to work great, no problems.
