Yes. I need to know whether or not they are using a louvered fin within the bar/plate structure, or if they are using sectioned, which is much less efficient.

All it seems you showed in this case are two pictures; one that had the flash illuminate inside to the core, the other, the light was not able to reach it, and the inlet cast of the mishimoto was a little rough of a surface.. That doesn't necessarily make it a better design.. I'm simply playing devil's advocate here. I use a Garrett core myself, so I don't care particularly either way for my needs.

I like the EG..

Why such a large turbocharger?
x2......OP you might have been better off with a drastically smaller turbo, the response of the car & the powerband would be way more efficient for that power range. I had a stock 99 B16a2 nothing changed and dynoed 323whp on a 62-1 .70 A/r Turbonetics.....car was laggy as hell, ran a best time of 12.6 at the track on 15lbs....ended up catching a rock and bent the compressor fins up, picked up a 60-1 .63A/r used for $100 cash in good condition, slapped it in and re-tuned on street only ran consistent 11.9's the car was night & day in response.

i didnt get the .70AR compressor side, i got TO4E Compressor cover, i believe it was .63. umm boost start to creep u at 2psi around 3k plus im not looking for more power. this car is ment to drive. just wanted to share my result with HT people. before tuning, (sometime last year) i ran a 13.8 no traction with regular tire @ 110mph. i know what my car is capable of.

Hence, the suggestion for a smaller turbo...pm THE SHODAN he has some units that would work perfect for your application. With experience you will start to realize like I did having a turbo too big for your setup actually takes away from the car.. B18C has 1.8L of displacement trust me driveability makes all the differnce to me dyno numbers really mean nothing the powerband is where the skill & fun join up to make a nice build. But if your happy with your setup enjoy it. My turbo switch took me from a car that spooled up at 5500-9000 to a car that spooled at 3500 and pushed all the way to 8200 the entire time with more in it....

Even though the Treadstone unit shows a more visible picture with better lighting, it is obvious that it's better made. Garrett cores are nice too.....and more expensive.

Really now??? Proof?? My 3.5in core ebay intercooler works just fine.

+1 on that

From what I read fins do play an important role, but more so is how thick (depth) it is. The thicker the core, the harder it is to cool the air, yet the flip side, the thicker the intercooler the more air it can flow or have on tap (cross section area D x H). Now there is a difference between flow and how well it can extract heat from the air traveling through (fins). I think its more important to look at how quick an intercooler becomes soaked. Its been some time since I have seen any one do a test on that but imo, that is really the true way to see how well an intercooler is made or paired to the setup of the vehicle. Granted if you live in Arizona, and the temperature is 105* outside, it wont be easy to cool the air that much, versus a day where it is 60-70*. This is when we or someone needs to take the temp at the inlet and then at the outlet. From what I have seen, if the intercooler can get the air flowing through to the same temp as the outside air, that is good. Then there are supposedly the best intercoolers that can drop the temp under the ambient temperature, although I have not seen this. And as always its good to test how well the intercooler can hold boost pressure, meaning it can flow the air correctly under certain boost pressures. If the intercooler drops by 1 PSI this is considered bad in terms of how well the intercooler is mated to the turbo and engine choice. (This is all based on an intercooler alone and nothing else added)

Correct me if I am wrong.

Those TR10s are pretty big so watch out. I have airflow problems on my integra now so Im going to have to look into some radiator ducting.

Yeah...that's what I was thinking too. I think the TR8 is the perfect size FMIC.

Nice build. Any cold start chatter w/ the SRPs? Will it pass the sniffer w/ the stock cat and retune?

getting an edelbrock carb turbo kit for my bard ek, so want to keep everything cop friendly.
