how about some tuning, or suspension work, now that you have the power you need.

First change out that twig of a downpipe , get rid of the cat (if you can) , and remove that restrictor plate on the inlet pipe to the turbo pipe where the air filter connects to, and you will then see how much more "boost" in general is the **** .
Get yourslf an exhaust if you don't have one, and get a/f gauge, boost, and egt. even though the egt is really not that necessary for the greddy due to the fact you having nothing to tune since it's considered bolt on and drive but in my case I added it since I am gonna upgrade and with climate changes heat can be a very affecting factor in the equation. My ride feels like a slug during the day and rides like a banchee at night but I can't wait for winter, or whatever you consider winter in Florida. Latez

you got a greddy kit? "SORRY YOUNG JEDI, FOR YOU DO NOT YET KNOW THE POWER OF THE DARKSIDE" hehe

change your downpipe, slap on a fatter turbo, take off the cat, and buy yourself a external wastegate and crank up the sucker... then youll see why i got TURBO FEVER!

Had one fabricated at muffler shop to a 2.5" piece. You don't need a bigger turbo, bigger isn't necessarily always better. I've taken out an LS on a drag and a gsr at 7 psi.. Just cuz you got alot of power doesn't account for drivers skills. Don't be discouraged because someone who has a drag tells you so and so. Enjoy your ride dude. Lates

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say you should change you clutch...

I'm probably going to get flammed a bit but i know there are some on here that will agree with,

"If your stock clutch holds for more then a week, you're just not making enough power"... ahhahha...

"yeah dude...get anything but the pos greddy kit. ahhhh...why'd you even get that dude!" man...gosh. jk i have it and it is fine, boost is what you paid for and it is very easily made better and upgradeable. don't listen to anybody telling you that you got the "wrong kit"...

Nice one puffy. You still hang out with Je-lo! You need to give her a ride, ya know.. Suck, Squish, Bang, Blow!!!

I myself needs a bigger downpipe and getting rid of the cat for a straight pipe. Too much restriction. Let if flow freely.

dont get me wrong, Greddy makes a cool kit. its LEGAL! but... if you want more power, you are basically goin to upgrade alot of the major parts.

boostkillz,
youre right, a bigger turbo doesnt mean better. but that Greddy turbo is small. so anything bigger than that is better. also, you mentioned something about beatin an LS with a drag and a GSR. true... maybe its the driver with not enough skills to handle such power. BUT... as for beating MY LS with a DRAG3 kit... i doubt it. wanna race? haha

happy boosting, puffy!

how would a greddy kit work on an ITR? minimal amounts of boost.. on a stock motor with upgraded clutch.. and 2.5 exhuast w/testpipe out the back?
just wondering if its possible or should i look into a headgasket as well?
give me some opinions..

The Greddy kit uses either a TD04 or TD05 with the Si kit (which is what I think Type R's use) and both of those turbos are too small for the Type R. with the 8400 redline I'd go with a T3/T04e, it seems to be the most efficient with B18c5 motors from my experience.

DLplay... I didn't say I can beat everyone with a drag Having alot of power is great knowing how to use it to your advantage is what counts. Alot of power and no traction equals bad combo.. all I'm saying and personally above the rest the greddy quality is the best I have seen so far. But for some reason its funny, Alot of people with the greddy have not blown up there cars but for some reason here in Miami I have heard nothing but kids who have bought the greddy kit for there SI have blown there engines... I guess they get boost happy and think the engine can take it. oh well sux to be them.

greddy turbo is the ****! I love how the bov sounds hehe. I am already thinking about more boost OHH NO!!!! What are some goodies I should get? I only have turbokit and thats it on my car now.
Id say a clutch, fat exhaust, gauges(if you dont have them now) ignition, fuel system, Dyno tuning

Remember tuning is everything.. Without it your car will be a smolder pile of rubbish after your motor blows.. Prevent detonation and your car will make you proud..
