Hahaha... glad to help you out! Just make sure you keep an eye on that blinker fluid!!!

Ok guys.. Today is the day to start tearing into the Jetta, first comes the motor and tranny, then the rest of the usefull parts out of the engine bay and on to the interrior electronics. Once all is salvaged that we want; We will start cutting the frame up on Sunday if we go get the cutter.

Then.. I get to see the infamous K03's flange... and see wether it would be worth it to weld a T3 flage to it to mount it to this manifold.

Lots of work ahead... that is when my buddy stops being lazy and gets out the umpbox so we can drive it up to the garage from storage. If the camera is charged, I will take some pics... but if not, it will be later that I will be able to post some images.

I see nothing wrong here. This isn't the first time, or the last time, that PVC will be used, and quite frankly, it works.

The K03 and IC will be nice. Get a nice DP on there and get it tuned; it should run very well for a long time.

To the haters, what temp does PVC start to melt?

Yea.. The funny thing is he will probably get more horsepower out of that POS than a basic b-series swap! haha

Thanks for the replies guys...

We started last night by pulling the intake manifold off the Jetta, and yanking the radiator support. We resumed after I got off work today by yanking the motor out... It is really the only thing he wants from the car besides other odds and ends.

Here are a few pics of the teardown, and the K03 still mounted to the motor after we pulled it....

Damn... this thing is small.. almost too small... I might wanna re-consider using this turbo, or get crazy and use it with a T04e doing a twin turbo setup... It would be a "one spools the other" setup... so I would have to think things through, and maybe consider a 30-50 shot of nitrous for spooling.... that would be direct-port... but I will hold off on that idea untill things have moved along.

Heres the pics.

See the piping in the pile there... I might use that instead of the PVC if I can get it to route right... if I have to cut and couple it, then I can.. I have access to a pipe beader to make the ends stay on.

And I close with: God damn... that is a small *** turbo...

If I feel like it I will post in a few min: A pic of a .42/.48 Garrett exhaust housing right next to the K03...

Ok, as promised... this ****** is TINY!

I think I will mount this to an OEM DX manifold now... the hot side inlet is about the right size to be welded....

Haha... well.. funny you ask..

The motor is for sale as a long block... no manifolds, and basic sensors, maybe a few accessories... My friend wants $1,500 for it... It is an AWD motor. LMK if u want... but I think you don't and it was a joke... lol

But... why the hell would I wanna put one of those peice of **** 1.8t motors in a honda? That would be going against all religion of the world.... Those VW's from a mechanical and "physics" standpoint are complete crap. The cars themselves are cool, fast and whatnot, but... who in their right mind designed this car??? Dymler Chrysler did.. and they are made in Mexico... WTF mate? isn't it a german car? think again. lol.

vw might not make the best motors ever but that 1.8t totally stock will blow the doors off whatever that nonsense is in your engine bay with pvc pipe and a c clamp

Haha... the 1.8 would be faster? Dude... my D15B hangs within 3 inches of my buddies bumper on his 01 Audi A4 1.8t in the 1/4 mile.

as for my other buddies GTI: The GTI pulls on my in the 1/4, and at freeway speeds... he won't pull on me... we are neck and neck all the way to 135. So....

I don't see your point... aside from it being a horrible design to work on, Shitty computer system (sorry, but it does some stupid things at stupid times for some damned stupid reasons.... say for instance if you run the tank less than 1/8 left alot, it will start throwing lean/misfire codes out of nowhere, and you need a special diagnostic tool to reset the condition so it will continue to run right. Their version of "limp mode" it is to help you get to a gas station.

Second: is how it chooses when/how to regulate the boost to the motor... very inconsistant.

Aside from the fact that the parts are outrageously overpriced for the motor, the motor is an interfearance type. Example: a *real* GIAC chip alone: $600+ not including install. Oah yeah... you know about the coilpack issues right? That one will never be fixed.

and made by dymler chrysler... do I need to say more? If you ever had to do any semi major work, or disassembly/part-out etc.. you would know that everything is in the most RETARDED of places, and "over engineered" so that if you sneeze wrong it will throw a CEL... You can tell this thing was designed in the US... just like you can tell the iVTEC was designed in the us by comparing it siide by side to a B16/B18 motor.

They are good cars, don't get me wrong... good for "blondy michelle" and other such peeps... they are the new Honda of the ricer scene... plus.. how many truly custom VW's do you see out there? aside from the people that throw on a front grill ($120) and maybe a FMIC setup (for anything other than crap you are paying $800+ for ust some piping, clamps and couplers W/IC-core....

oah yeah... last thing I hate about 1.8t's... fly by wire. Worst thing you can do to a motor.

AMEN! That's what im talkin about...

you know why all imports older than 92 suck right? cause they were forced to make plants in the US/south/central america so they didn't have to pay the 100% import tax. Thus the changing of the VIN on civics from "JHM"EG8.... etc. at the beginning to the new code. (I forgot the new one but you know what I mean)

All the iVTEC's/D17's were designed in LA... that explains the odd sensor placement, plastic IM's, etc etc, and more extra bullshit that really does not need to be there. I love working on the Pre 96 cars... well hondas that is.

Yup, I had a 1991 VW GTI back in 1996, biggest pile of **** ever. They had just switched to the mexico production at that time, and basically the car self-destructed after 100,000 km's Not to mention the stupid "digifucked" fuel injection...ugh! The only good stuff on the car was the spax suspension I put in, and the wheels I bought for it. Other than that, crap. After that car got totalled by a drunk driver, I bought a 1979 GTI (canadian), and it not only ran circles around the later car, it was WAY more reliable than the "newer/better" car. Since the early 1990's VW has made nothing but ****.... But the turbo you have could be good for a laugh....might build boost a little too early, and sign off on the top end, though. Would hate for you to be running in boost as you lightly cruise around town at 2000 rpm...ugh.

Could not have said it better myself. The A3 chassis was the downhill spiral of vw's production cars
