That's why more than 80% of people smoke or have smoked pot...

and...

Getting a perscription for the migranes from getting hit in the head at 35MPH by a 1/4" thick peice of plate steel sticking out from a trailer is something you really wouldn't care about eh?

the fact of the matter is...pot was once legal in this country and then they made it illegal because the DEA thinks that pot has too much potential for abuse so they say, but look at how many people in this country abuse alcohol. The only reason why pot hasnt been legalized since is because the DEA controls what studies can be done (medical & scientific) that are needed to prove the medical effectiveness and benefits that drug posesses. Until the government takes that power away from the DEA we're always going to have this debate in this country...sorta makes you want to move to amsterdam doesnt it? lol

Ok, test-fit complete here are the notes:

Evertyhing fits perfectly, drops in without a shoe horn; No clearance issues anywhere on the board: pleanty of DP room, but it will be somewhat of a pain to bolt up the WG and DP flanges once complete....

Check out the pics:

I'm gonna need a shorty air filter....

Oil drain line is almost in-line... pretty sweet compared to last time....

Bottom view of WG/DP flanges...

Top view of WG/DP flanges

Sexy bitch.

This is what an unused $200 press looks like... Latest good deal we got for the shop

DP and install coming soon to a web browser near you!

Looks like the cheap turbo and manifold route have owned you several times over. Its funny to see pgmfi's hardcore software guy having so many issues with 'hardware'.

I was expecting this when I put my HMT topmount manifold on (stock DX cast header, two 2" elbows, 2" plumbing pipe, SSAuto WG), but it worked great with a decent .42/.48 till the clutch got oil on it driving to the dyno.

If this mani fails, I highly suggest you just bite the big one and buy a decent one. If nothing else, cough up a few for a STD/HF/CX manifold. If you want a powerful turbo but less lag, I'd suggest you get a s-trim t3/t04b or a 60 trim T3. Be aware that the .42/.48 60 trims usually have a stg1 turbine, which isn't good high-rpm whp.

BTW - the best way to learn is the screw up the first time. Puts lots of things into perspective.

Ya, from the second I got the car for free, I decided to call it project rice and see how far I could go with nothing spent; then realized if I wanted it now for more laughs, I would waste $30 at Home-Cheepo... it was only 1.5 miles or so away.

As for the hardware woes: Hell Yeah. I am pretty sufficent when it comes to mechanica and physically working on things; being a 120Lb guy and woking on diesels and tractors teaches you alot; plus having a grandfather that was a master mechanic all his life teching you as a kid helps.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by JACER63 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">looks good so far jared. i had the same mani for a b but it fit like poop so i went the xsp ram horn and it still needed some fab to fit right. like hipro says next time just step up on quality and youll be set.im going to when mine takes a ****. otherwise lookin good and now get some ripper

I think I am going to stay away from XS's ramhorn; if I want a ramhorn I will fab it myself... it's symmetrical enough I could do it with a hand tubing bender and alot of patience.

This new mani is a nice peice of work for $200; worth $300 or $350 if it has been cleaned up more on the inside; I will be doing that myself in the next few days or so.

For the DP I am trying to find a local supplier so I can get some 304 or better stainless make a DP At the worst it will just be STD steel, but I think I can afford to buy the material and make a nice DP.

I was also lucky enough to not have any clearance issues at all; This is definately a good thing; I was kinda worried seeing is how the WG flange/section was soo poorly "splotched" on there with alot of tig wire; but it's thick and solid, so no worries bout that weld Only possible thoughts of bracking the manifold from the rear from the exhaust inlet to outlet flanges, and from the DP flange to the block as well; I don't think I will have to worry about it cracking on me; unless I hit a curb or something; but I plan to have countermeasures in place to prevent it from happening again.

As for the videos:

Yep; I was 100% lazy when it came to making video of the car: mainly cause I drive at night and did all my tuning at night before etiring home for bed. I am getting a different camera hooked up in my car with a fisheye, and also nightshot to help out. As well as adding the rear-view camera and looking for the recorder for it...

Awesome! Yeah, slowly as the $$$ comes in the project goes further; but things are in the works; new chassis, new setup (alot of these parts are being recycled into the new setup though) and it's gonna be the ultimate sleeper

But the ricer will still be boosted..... =D

New 75.5mm slugs in the mail.... these things are little babys compared to the ones in our company's "RevTech" motors

75.5mm

soo tiny... pretty light too. and You can see the teflon coating; kinda looks a little spotty.

next to the PM3 piston that came out of the motor that was in the ricemobile when I got it.

Next to a RevTech 100" piston

All the guys at work laughed at how "cute" the pistons were and asked if they were for my lawn mower; I told them nope, they are for my rice cooker!

Update:

New DP being fabbed ATM; New videos, but no way to download them to the PC since my multimedia machine with FireWire took a crap.

Here's a pic of what I have gotten eCtune's antilag to do:

Now I just need to work on the antilag's RPM resume... something isn't quite right with it and once it pops, it doesn't continue on steady, it releases some spaced out short pops afterwards; and the RPM's don't drop to the resume setting, they hold steady at the resume RPM instead of going to the FTL revlimit like it should...

Huge oil leak; Friggen oil drain line was plugged with a -10AN plug; the zipties holding it to the radiator support failed (the whole container I bought was bad) and the oil line fell down on the freeway... bounging off the pavement at ~80mph for 5-10 min.... By the time I noticed and turned down the stereo and pulled over, I looked and the drain line was on the ground, with the plug missing. the whole underside of the drivers side of the car was covered in oil.

Amazingly, no signs of it on the tires but it's on the rims, and it goes all the way back.... I guess I got my seasonal anti-rust coating

I since have put a good rubber plug in what's left of the fitting, and have a new fitting and plug in the mail.

I have enough flanges to do 2 DP's, so I think I will make one for a .48 exhaust housing, as well as the .63 housing that is on my egay turbo. Probably making a v-band coupler at the flange or something to that effect so it is easy to swap turbos/DP's.

I have also acquired a HX mani, adaptor plate, and turbo with exhaust elbow and DP for a smokin good deal; has a failed CHRA (major shaftplay) but after disassembling, both of the housings turned up good, and the turbine is intact and not damaged... AWESOME! Spare parts, and all I need to do is go to the yard to get a new CHRA off a junked DSM.

I am also in the works on getting a plate made for the K03 that I still have chillin around... should be fun to be able to do multiple setups depending on how I feel and how much power I want where.... just as stated long ago.

As always, more TBA!

The results of hacking up 3 old DP's and making one using nothing but a skill saw and a crappy wire-feed welder.

New LC-1 in the mail; Everything is coming together.

Hahahaha.. nice man..

That's badass. I've never seen someone build a turbo Civic, car and all, for $600. For that you get tons of respect.

But.. you gotta admit, that will last about a day.

EDIT: Whoa just noticed it was 12 pages.. *would've lasted about a day.

Holy crap, its sad that the best looking thing on that car is the turbo mani. Sorry, but everything else looks like **** and incredibly ghetto.

Ok, now on the new pics that is soooo much better. Good work mang on starting on such a shitty foundation with everything done on the car quite horribly.

That's how the car started; it was free =P

The body work is just $200 away, along with fenders and doors =P

There were soooooo many missing bolts when I got it it was hilarious; I was suprised it didn't fall apart.

It's getting fixed slowly; I don't have all the time in the world working as much as I do; but alot is going to be happening soon.

I have an Innovate WBo2 on the way, Custom front upper control arms, a new rack, new axles, a rebuilt tranny, the motor is getting a FJ/vitara build, rear disc conversion+new rear LCA's, all new bushings in the rear with new rack bushings too, different intercooler setup, rear camber adjuster (new screw style, big and sturdy), 15/16 master cylinder and brake booster from teg, clutch master cylinder, new fuel pump...

and more is planned soon; but that is what I have either in the mail or stockpiled in the shop to do when I have a weekend to do it.

Since we have the press now I will probably do wheel bearings all around, and ball joints cause they are a peice of cake.

All that leaves is new interior peices, and the rest of the bodywork finished... lots of work I know, but 80% of the parts stockpiled will be done in one days worth of work. She may seem ugly right now, but everything is going to happen when the weather and shop availability coincide with each other. I will be sure to take the digital camera with me that day; I will end up installing my smog motor (frankenstein D15B8) and all of the suspension/chassis related parts at thet time... it will give me chance to clean/pressure wash the engine bay and underside of the car. Then, when installing the smog motor, I will probably put the T25 Kit I recently acquired on it; it seems appropreate! I just need to pick up a 2G CHRA from pick-n-pull and Ill be straight.... I believe it's 2G... anyways, I will teardown my D15B, and send it off to the machinist for a complete overhaul; bake, tank... full cleanup. I was considering taking it for cryo-treating it for strength in the sleeves; But, if so, I will be sending all of the internals, minus the bearings I think know of a place in the area, but I need to check.

But Things are moving along; I will be using the custom length D15B rods from FJ, and 75.5mm Vitaras.

P2W will be .0035

Love the build and the direction you're taking it.

Best part about your old setup is that you took the time to use purple primer. expletiveing awesome job. I can't wait until I get my hands on eCtune!!

Thanks for the compliment; I would suggest if your waiting for it to release; you can buy a prerelease copy and all you need from there is an ostrich, logger, and your ready to go. There should be an email link to email Calvin for a prerelease copy, and I think Phearable.net is selling it already; need to souble chck about that but someone posted a link on Turbod16 or d-series, so you can seek it out if you wish

It's pouring today; so I took it easy and should have left in the morning to pull a rear disc setup off of a wrecked teg in the area for $100... but the rain made me sleep in instead... eh, hopefully Ill be able to get it done in the morning tomorrow... that's a hell of a good deal.
