Some of the cheaper filters can come apart and get sucked into the compressor inlet. K&N filters are nice, and usually pretty cheap.

IO'm running a cheapo temporarily right now. $18 bucks from Autozone, APC yO. Ir's a piece of **** really, foam sucks so I would avoid that at all costs. There is a company (I believe they advertise through this site) that can make you a custom one for a really good price. I'll try and dig up a link

K&N for me.

A few years ago I ran a UNI filter that was made for a motorcycle. But it had a foam element and the internal structure wasn't very sturdy, it made me a bit nervous so I switched it out. lol

Take a look at AEM's Dryflow filters. Unlike the Apex'i dry filters, they are meant to be cleaned and reused, and don't require oiling like K&N.

heh, no ****? I've heard they can actually restrict the turbos a bit. You ever had your car dyno'd? And if so, did you try removing it for a pull? On a higher boosted app. I remember seeing a while back that just removing that filter added something like 20+ hp. Crazy

Oh, and the company I was thinking of in my first post was Akimoto. Hate to thread jack, but has anyone tried Akimoto's filters? They claim to out flow K&N, but that could be BS
