Default Fan not coming on

I replaced my stock radiator fan with a slimline fan. The fan came with the motor only no switch or anything. So I cut the wires to the stock clip and wired the clip onto the new fan thinking that the fan would just kick on when the stock one would. I know the wiring is good so I'm thinking it's got to be the wiring harness and some sensors are in the wrong position( I just put he motor back in). Any idea what particular sensors I should be looking at and what wires go into those sensors. I think I might have a few backwards.

What motor do you have? One problem I had with my car is I swapped the coolant temp & vtec plugs when I first put my motor in (b16) and the fan didn't come on b/c it couldn't tell it was even hot. Check your fuses and then try throwing 12v to it. HTH.

Just connect oem blue wire to slimfan's blue wire and black to black. The only time fan come on is when the engine is hot. If you have AC, then turn on the AC the fan will come on.

It's a b18C fully built with a b16 head. I think I did switch the vtec and coolant plug.
