Default F.A.S.T. standalone fuel pump control question.

I am in the process of finishing my FAST wiring and trying to use the fuel pump control. Now on global operations it mentions the prime time for the pump, which is set to 5 seconds. I wired it up to the relay and the pump will not kick on with the key on. From the way I understood it, once the FAST comes on it should immediately turn the pump on for a 5 sec prime. If I hook the ground up directly the pump comes on fine. Is there some other settings that I am missing here or what, when does the fast actually turn the pump on for running conditions because the motor is not back in yet to try and crank it, any help would be great, thanks.

If I wire the relay to a common ground pump will come on with the key, but I don't understand why the FAST wont turn it on, just making sure I am not missing a setting or something. Just wondering if it is supposed to kick it right on or what.

Well I bought this as a bank to bank. I went into ECU Config and its on SEQI EFI and thats all it will let you choose, won't let me pick Bank to Bank or the Individual Cyl Control. Well the Bank to Bank is the only one where the Fan and Fuel pump control is available. I have the wiring there for it and the stuff to control it on the program, is it possible though this is just a sequential system perhaps. I checked my fan and the FAST has it turned on no matter how I set the come on and go off temps in the FAST, where as the Fuel pump one won't come on at all, I dunno, this is driving me crazy, any help from people with this system would be great.

it sounds like its seq. i would call fast and give them the number off the back of the box and they should be able to tell you the info on it. im getting ready to send mine out to have it changed to seq and im going to lose the fan and fuel pump control. or the relay is not wired up right.

Check the part # on your box to see which unit you have. This will tell you how to check it.

I got it off the Fuel Air Spark website. Its a page from the catalog. Figuring out what kind of unit you have is a start. I didnt know you lose fuel pump prime control on the seq box. I guess that would explain your problem if you have the seq box.

i didnt know that either, i had a bank to bank system, & my fuel pump prime worked

you really dont need the fast to turn on the fuel pump but it would be nice, so it wasnt constantly running.

I am just gonna wire it up and add a switch for the fan and pump so I can still control them at will, no biggie, I just figured if it had it why not use it.

you should call the FAST tech line. im sure they can explain better than any of us on here what is going on. you should try to get it hooked up. are you still running the factory ign switch/key or are you running an aftermarket switch panel/start button ??

still running a factory switch, I went ahead and wired it all today without using the FAST controls where I am now about 99.9 percent sure it is just a sequential.

I had the Sequential box in my car and I had it wired to switched 12V, just watch that you don't leave the key forward, as it will kill your battery
