A/F ratio when not in boost.... suggestions?
For those who street tune... what a/f do you guys tune for out of boost?
I see alot of people shooting for 12:1 when under boost, but I don't hear much
about out of boost situations.
Also I'm hearing that honda engines like to cruise/idle REAL lean... in the range of 15-17 a/f...
Thanks for any help.

12:1 is a pretty good ratio to try to obtain.
It will depends on the motor and parts on the motor though. Every motor is different, you just have to see.
Some motors may be more efficent while others aren't. If a motor is really efficient then it will want more and more fuel.

I run 13.5:1 mearly to clean up the emissions while idling and to extend my plug and o2 life as much as possible. I found that with 14:1 it likes to run a little lean when you first get on it. Datalogging EGT's was a good idea. My wide-band never pick up the drop, but I figure it was dropping to around 15.5:1 when I just jumped on it.

What is this crap?

you should aim for 14.7:1 while cruising.
i am aiming for 15.5 at very light loads to conserve fuel. i think this is how honda's "lean burn" civic VX worked. it just leaned out under light loads, since you wont detonate at light load and leaner than 14.7. EGTs are not getting out of hand. a document on the web quotes Bosch as saying you can go as lean as 16.2:1 for fuel economy, but thats a little much in my opinion. also running lean causes a spike in NOx emissions which can eat metal in the exhaust etc. but thats a long-term concern.
