I need to get an external wastegate so I can increase the boost more than 12 or whatever psi when I install my greddy turbo kit, but since the manifold has an internal wastegate, how would i go about changing it over to an external wastegate?

the turbo has an internal wastegate, not the manifold. you'll need to have that welded shut. if you're going to use the greddy manifold you'll need to have a wastegate flanged welded onto it.

The greddy kits are only rated to 10 psi.. i would recommend going with a equal-lenght manifold with an external wastegate setup.. neukin makes a great manifold and you can get the wastegate from them too... that's if you wanna go more than 12 psi

yeah, thats what I meant... I dunno why I said that.
but thanks, Ill see about getting that done.I only wanna boost to like 250 to the wheels or so, and I dont wanna buy a new manifold and crap to do it.

would that hold though if the wastegate lets it go?
the wastegate starts to slip or whatever at 10-13 psi and I dont want to accidently blow my engine.

Or is there any way to change the actuator to accept a higher psi spring?
If so, where can I get one?

dont do it. if you have the td05 kit, i wouldnt run more than 10psi. a friend of mine boosted 15lbs for about 2 monthes, not even daily but he would scramble it on the freeway before he raced. anyway, it tore the compressor to **** and he just ended up getting a new manifold and turbo so he could get the power safely. we'd both heard of others having the same or similar problems boosting 12+ psi so i just run mine at 7 psi

I've been runnin over 15psi on my kit for over the last 3 years on my stock block LS. 18psi is when it get's hard to hold boost steady.
