Exhaust temp gauge?
I was wondering what the gauge should run at. Before my rebuild it was running around 600, just driving normal on the interstate around 65-70mph now it runs 700? Just wondering if thats ok TIA

Re: Exhaust temp gauge? (ek9t)
wierd!!! while crusing at 70mph, my egt is like 800C. my probe is 1.5" away on the 3rd cylinder.... what gives???
also, i noticed that mine egt is proportionate to my speed. i checked the readings on dyno, and noticed that for 12.5 a/f ratio, the egt is about 750C...

If your EGT probes aren't mounted in the same place, you're all comparing apples to oranges. Before and after the turbo makes a big difference. The turbo itself is a big heat sink.
