Which exhaust? Need some help
Hi guys,
I need an opinion here, i have a chance to exchange my RSR GTII for an HKS exhaust+cash for my GSR. On an NA setup i prefer the sound of an HKS and i also prefer the shape but I am planning to go turbo soon so i would like to know which is best performance wise and which is the least noisy on a turbo setup. Plz help me out
thks

Whichever one is bigger. You need less exhaust restriction with a turbo. Don't worry too much about sound, a turbo car (assuming the dumptube or wastegate goes into the main exhaust) will be quieter than an N/A car because a lot of the high-pitched sound is dissipated in the turbine.

what do you mean exactly by 'assuming the dumptube or wastegate goes into the main exhaust'?? is this effected by how the wastegate is mounted on the manifold?

The wastegate can be open atmosphere or resurculating. Im assuming you know how the wastegate works but for a extn. wastegare you can fab a exhaust tube to go back in to the exhaust piping. or just have a pipe going down, sideways, however.
Open dumptube (the pipe coming off the wastegate) is loud, resirculating is quiter.
