Exhaust manifold temps (Full-Race) (Header coating related)
I know this has been discussed before. No luck on search.
What max temps do turbo exhaust manifolds get up to? What about turbo housings?
I'm going to be forced to go with either an HPC or jet-hot coating because of under-the-hood heat issues. Not to mention the paint cracking and turning brown on my hood. I'm going to be doing 20-30 minute track sessions, so I need to choose a level of coating that will withstand extream temps after running hard for that long. Up to 1300 deg.? Or 1600? 2000?
Anybody using a coating on their turbo housing? Would this cause any bearing wear issues by limiting the housing to release heat?
