Ever painted a down pipe??
1200 degree paint on everything, it holds very very well. goto Wal-Mart and get it, I think its like 3 bucks a can, which 1 can lasted me a manifold, downpipe, and half my intercooler piping.

Haha, yeah, the grill paint seems to hold up a bit better.

por-15 makes paint specifically for mani's and dp's. good up to 1400. its brush on too. not thin spray on.(altho you can spray it if you choose)
a few ppl on turboD16 have had excellent results with it so i went and ordered some. its expensive compared to walmart spray paint, but no were near the cost of those professional coatings.
i haven't used mine yet, since the ebay seller who i won a manifold from flaked on me ..jerk

Por's high temp **** sucks. My buddy used the 2000degree silver stuff on his manifold and it cracked/chipped off very nicely. I would just use some flat black bbq paint and just touch it up when it needs it, blending flat black is as hard as scratching my ***. MY .02

haha. nice analogy at the end.
well i already payed the money for it. so i'll give it a whirl. i think it all depends on prep technique(as stated above by someone else).
a guy on turboD16 has painted 3-4 mani's with it. never once had it crack or burn of?

when I get my turbo kit in...the first thing Im doing is going downtown in honolulu and get my manifold powder coated...for $40 bucks.
if its small enough to fit in the oven they dont charge much at all and the coating is pretty en-expensive. hell if you dont mind your birthday cake tasting like paint then have them coat it and bake in your own oven. If I had enough room I would buy an old oven just for baking my stuff.
another cool thing about powder coating is they can coat the inside also to give it a smooth flow (untill all the carbon builds up atleast)

you want ceramic coating. not powder coating for your manifold.
powder coating is a chemical process..think about how hot your oven gets..then think about how hot your manifold gets...

for everyone that had the paint flake off, did u paint it and let it sit over night? Your suppose to paint it, let it dry then within acouple hours either let ur engine run or bake it in the oven or it wont set right.

Doesn't that exhaust wrap keep moisture in and rust out the piping? I saw a set of headers on this very clean engine once and the headers were all rusted off with exhaust wrap on it. Maybe if u painted it first it would seal it better.
