How did you hookup the MSD box at the ignition? You should have just disconnected the two wires from the factory coil and connected those directly to the MSD BOX signal lines. AS for the Tach not working, check all the fuses and all you connections at the distributor. You shouldnt have ad to cut any wires for the MSD Install.

Re: msd ignition prob (fipracing_com)
That is what i have done. i have connected the 2 wires from the ignition which are the green and purple wire , which are coming out of the msd to +and - of the factory ignitor.. as for the tach there is no fuses burnt i assume cause when we re hooked the oem distributor, the tach worked perfectly again. Some technician at MSD inc.. told us that we should purchase like a resistor from them , i forgot the actuall name of the thing .. the only thing i rember is the pn: is 6910..
So what do you think?

The purple and greeen wire are for the Magnetic pickup those do NOT connect to anything on a honda setup, you should have wired up the small red wire to the + wire on the old stock coil, the white wire goes to the - wire of the old stock coil.
Look here at the MSD installtion instructions, they have a picture that SHOWS how to connect up the MSD setup to the honda Ignition system. NO resitors are required. http://www.msdignition.com/pdf/pn6350.pdf
