evans tuning vs golden eagle?
hey guys im buildn a fully built b18c gsr motor. i was wondering from your guys experience wich do you guys reccomend rebuilding my block? evans tuning or golden eagle, thanks for the info guys
Evans uses InlinePro for the sleeving process, and blueprints/assembles himself. He will be assembling my new engine early next year, great guy and a wealth of knowledge..... I am always for supporting the "lil guys"
Cant go wrong with either, they are both good choices...... the best part about using Evans is you know who is assembling/handling your engine, and you know his qualifications.

some people lack the tools to blueprint, and the tools tp properly assemble.
i do all my own engines, i trust my machinist to have the clearances right, because i lack the bore gauges. but i can handle everything else.
and some people just dont want the apprehension of assembling their own engine.

i was gonna get bottom end built by evans tuning and i would build the head i am worried of screwing somthn up while assembling the bottom end
In all honesty, theres not alot to it. Just measure everything and assume nothing. The only real issues that you'll encounter is having all the proper tools. They're expensive and cheap ones wont give accurate measurements which is needed when assemble engines. I can justify the cost of the tools because I use them pretty regularly at work so I have bought most of what I need over the years.
IMO I would choose jeff evans. I had a small issue with a GE block and stock crank I bought from them and the way they handled the entire situation was unacceptable to me. Im not bad mouthing their product or their machine work, but their customer service leaves much to be desired. I wanted to talk to one of their machinists to find out what exactly was wrong, but I dont speak spanish and that also created some problems. Plus jeff is just closer to you

i want this car to be a fast built motor but at the same time be able to drive it more hen just the weekends looking at the evans tuning block packages wich one would u guys recommend package 1 or 2? it says using package 2 it would be only for weekend car or drag would it be possible to run it as a once and a while daily driver
Of course, they are pretty much all built the same..... only major differences are bearing/p2w clearances and the parts used, ill be driving the Stg3 on a regular basis.
Seriously call them up and talk to them, they know more about their packages than any of us do..... I am sure they will accomidate a package to your specific application
