ethonal is bad. most of your american fuel is already spiked with a 10% mix anyways (check ur local and state laws).

Ethonal isnt a more efficent or more dense fuel. Octane in this case, lies.
Liken it to watering down the fuel. Less good stuff. They use it in most places as a thinner/to cut real fuel with to make it cheaper. Ethonal is a natural by-product of the sugar farming process.

Weq, yes and no.

You have to inject a lot more alky than gas to reach the same AFR, but when adjusted for stochiochemic when dealing with identical airmasses, alky *always* makes a smidge more power. It also runs a **** ton cooler (yay!), as it completes the chemical rxn that creates water a lot sooner than gas does, and it forms less contaminants and unburn byproducts to displace the working fluid (back to the smidge more power thing).

Ethanol may still be corrosive to most stock fuel systems out there, but it isn't corrosive to engine internals like methanol. Now, give me a set of those cheap eBay aluminum rods and I'll blend some E85 50/50 with nitromethane and it's on...

e85 ethanol is 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline... the gasoline gives it lubricating properties and also eliminates the corrosion problem

I got a lot of my information from this website, http://www.e85fuel.com/index.php, and this one, http://www.eere.energy.gov/afdc/e85toolkit, also I did a lot of legwork in my University's Library. As far as sending you the paper.............I dont think I am willing to do that. I put too much time and effort into it just to hand it over to someone else.

Are you writting a research paper, or a persuasive paper?

I'm really just looking for some good information on the subject and most of it i find is either really really over my head or it doesnt tell me anything.

In my paper, I tried to make a strong point on how reliant the US is on foreign oil supply. You can make reference to the Egypt-Israeli War back in '73 when the US was a victim of an oil embargo. You can also make valid points on how each World War (also the Iraqi War of today) affected the US oil supply and oil prices.

I was able to use these events to help support my paper.

Also, I wrote to the National Ethanol Vehicle Coalition, and they gave me temporary access to the members only sections of their website.
