Erl MF2 Extra Injector Controller Opinions Needed
I was wondering whether I should purchase this with a Max-Rev turbo kit. I have a 2001 civic so the Vortech FMU is out of the question due to my cars crappy returnless fuel system. I have heard mixed opinions on the mf2 and was looking to get some more opinions. Now how easy is this thing to tune and also how reliable is it? It looks quite easy to adjust how much fuel is put out of the extra injectors, but I do not want it to be puddling fuel in my intake manifold. Well I hope someone here has some knowledge with this controller and can help me out! Well thanks for reading this post!

I have seen a similar setup running RC injectors with good success. Use quality injectors. I plan on using an adapted Megasquirt board on my next boost project with additional injectors. I wouldn't use it for sick boost though, unless you were tapping the intake manifold - easier said than done.

SDS makes one that is alot easier to tune with.. Also splitsec (i think) just came out with one that looks promising. I have used the sds one and it works well.

I've done a little research on this as I was looking to go with 4 additional injectors - haven't gotten that far yet though. I have compiled a list of AIC's though:
Additional Injector Controllers[*]SDS EM-4[*]EFI Secondary Injector Drivers[*]RSR AIC400[*]ERL MF2[*]Split Second AIC1[*]Greddy Rebic IV[*]HKS AIC-Si[*]034 EFI Sup. Injector ECU

Why does it have to run rich? Is long as it's adjustable, I don't see why you can't tune it to get a/f levels. I'm mainly speaking of running 4 additional injectors on the intake mani rather than before the t/b. It's a proven concept, the only downside is that it could cost you as much as hondata and you'd still have no ignition management.

Fuel distribution can be uneven, but a quick check of your plugs will tell you that story. I've seen this work well on low boost setups many times.

i was running the MF2 on my fmax kit and after getting a few problems worked out it ran great. 9psi on gsr motor the car went 13.07@110. This was untuned. as far as tuning the unit i beleive there are 9 dials inside and with a wideband im sure you could tune to an extent. but remember the MF2 is really only good to about 13 psi after that there is too much fuel going through the intake manifold.

plugs did tell the story...thats why I got rid of it...#4 and #3 black #1 and #2 whitish....so in order to compensate, I had to dump fuel to get the other two cylinders fuel...not a very good solution....but I was thinking about keeping the MF2 for use with water injection in the future..

So out of split second, SDS, and the MF2 which one should I get? I have a 2001 Civic so I do not know whether the SDS or the split second injector controllers will work...

Re: (jon_)
Type of controller doesn't matter, what does matter is the injector placement. Injector control is pretty straightforward. The MF2 seems to work pretty well.
What -does- matter is the placement of the injectors relative to your intake manifold and the air stream, and the type of injector. Play around with it if you have machine shop facilities to get nice even burn on your plugs, and if you don't have an even burn on your plugs, fix it.

Re: (xtal)
controller shou be easy to tune especially from inside the car. Unless yo get a long serial cable with the pins mapped correctly, MF2 doesn't offer that.
