Equal Length Meaning?
Hey guys, i been reading up on manifolds, and which one should work better over one another..
But they mention Equal Length alot, what does that mean? What kind of manifold is that?
Log/minihorn/ramhorn/topmount
sidenote; May i ask what kind of exhaust manifold would fit my +/- 300whp goal? I heard Log's go for $150, and ramhorns anywhere from $500-1k
I have seen Ramhorns for $600 such as the (Synapse Turbo ramhorn manifold)

Equal length means the piping is all the same length, so the exhaust has the same distance to travel from each cylinder. You can find a lot of decent information about the design of manifolds here.
The term "equal length" is more of a selling point than something to justify spending more money on.
Just because the exhaust gases have to go the same distance, doesn't mean they will all flow the same. The amount of angles have much more to do with that then the length because of just how fast those exhaust pulses are trying to move.

And just so you know, subaru's sound the way they do, NOT because of the boxer engine (H4), but because they use unequal lenth manifolds. If you put a manifold with enough difference in length of runners, on your car, it will sound like a subie too.

Don't PM me. And don't PM me and get mad because I speak to you bluntly.
I'm going to say this plainly. You are making this harder than what it needs to be and being stubborn and ignorant about it aint gonna help you. You're doing EVERYTHING ***-backwards. Tires before rims. Exhaust before turbo. Manifold before turbocharger. Flood before ark.
I predict you will never get this thing built.

Why u tryna let everyone know I am pming you? I was trying to keep our conversations private. But yeah, we both know how its gone be..
I already mentioned that I dont want to simply put a build together. I want to learn about the engines, be proud of what i've build.
I aint from usa/uk, I am not familiar with all these english terms about engines, I only know how to write basic english lol.. So yeah its pretty damn hard understanding every sentence people write in their Faqs

Another enabler. He seems to be writing English pretty well enough if he's able to do it with slang. Do you want to attack me or help him? And you have NO IDEA the crap he's PMing me with so really you don't know the whole situation.

marc, just leave it with this. just try to avoid my topics if u keep goin offtopic
for real..
Right in the FAQ! It's all there!

How hard is it to understand "equal" + "length"? Pretty obvious if you just look at the manifold.. like what else can be equal length...? If you can't figure that much out, don't think turbo is for you.
Don't know what else to tell you man lol. For example: A header with 18 inch runners (each tube from each exhaust port), all 18inch runners would be equal length. Un equal would be one runner is 18, one is 16, one 13, one 24, etc. Those numbers aren't any real figures I'm just throwing out numbers to give you an idea.
