Engine mysteriously cutting off, what the hell is going on??
Damn, it happened once last week and I was like WTF....turned key back and restarted--fired right up. Then the other day i goto the movie store and come back out to start it--nothing just cranks, turned key off then tried again--same thing, took about 4-5 tries to start it.
Day or 2 later I come home and I park. Sitting in the car doing the human turbo timer thing
it shuts off by itself. I kinda chucked to myself and was like, wow, it knows when its time to shutoff

Now today. Really bothered me. I'm on my way to work on the highway, cruising at about 75mph the ******* motor dies!! WTF!!! Turn key back and restarted without a problem. Then I got to work and did the human turbo timer thing, what do you know it shuts off again.
Ok. I listened for the fuel pump to prime and run. Ok there.
Check fuel pressure under the hood and all is good.
I run hondata, so I checked the plugs and the power wire running into the ecu. Getting a solid red LED. A OK there.
Dont really have any shitty wiring under the hood---pretty much stock, so nothing to check over there.
Now the only thing is the other day I turned up the boost. Im sure I went over 12 psi a couple times. I'm still using the stock MAP. It should have threw a code from it, but never show a CEL.
Im stumped. I hope the hondata isnt going bad.
I also noticed that my top radiator hose is hard as ****. Do you guys think I could have a blown headgasket as well?? I've been noticing on hot days on the highway my factory temp gauge goes up 3/4 where its normally 3/8 from the bottom.

I had a problem with my rev limiter that sounds similar.
I had my ignition cut 250 rpm lower than the fuel cut. Apparently 250 rpm was enough for the 500cc injectors and a 4:1 fmu to flood the car 'cause it'd die. Had to coast for a little bit then do the key thing like you mentioned. Raising the ignition cut solved the problem.
Hondata should take care of your fuel and ignition, but have you checked youre spark plugs for sooting. Sounds like youre flooding it to the point the spark isnt any good.

cahnge the ignitor man, i had this happen on my car and now 3 other cars within the past 2 weeks. its crazy everyones ignitor has been goin bad. i bet its that, theres been some posts on that lately search and see if its similar to ur probs
Hey if you need a distributer jsut give me a call, you have my number. I have a few LS distributers laying around. You can at least trouble shoot the problem.
I had the same problem, changed the distributor went away, im 100% sure its your distributor. I had opened the bad one up after I took it off and sure enough the ignitor chip had broken off. They say that it usually happens to cars that are shipped from Japan because of all the salt deposits.
Ok, I havent looked into the distributor as of yet. As far as the ignitor goes, well I just replaced it about 12k ago--but that wasnt the problem from before, maybe I will swap in the one I took out.
I do have a spare distributor here too. Maybe I will toss it in and see what happens.
Anyone think it could possibly be the coil?? Or even the plug wires? Wheres the best place to buy some NGK wires at---I need to replace the crap thats on my car now anyways..
