Engine build up: 2nd gen crx, b16a, vortech SC.. would like suggestions..
friend of mine has a crx with a b16, and vortech supercharged, and he is contemplating on which internals to use for his block, bottom end mostly. just seeing what all you other vortech guys are using... thanks. oh and best places to get as well..

What's your buddies hp goals? If he's pretty determined to build the bottom end he can follow the same guidlines as a turbo car pistons, rods, sleeving. There are a lot of different kinds of available. Mostly what you need to look at is HP goals then make a determination. Those vortechs makes some pretty good power with smaller pulleys. FYI I'd look into a custom ribbed belt and pulleys if he's looking for high horsepower. On the 00' si we put a vortech on a while back the belt would start to slip once we got to the 9-10 psi range. We had to constantly tighten it down.

well, i heard some pretty good things about cp pistons, and maybe crower rods?? i guess i have never really looked to deeply into it myself...

I like cp pistons and pauter rods get them from earl on this board, and benson sleeves. But what ever you want.

i think importparts has good pricing on piston/rod combos ...like $799 i think

You can get 8-rib pulley/crank kit from Payn. Good grip with 6.5" Crank Pulley
If your friend wants less than 400Hp, go with Piston, Rods and Hondata.
Then work from there, valves, sleeves and so on.
