Default endyn breather kit setup

whats up everyone. i know this seems like another breather kit question, but its really a suggestion. alright, i have a built ls/vtec setup. its a b18a1 bottom end so i still have the black breather box connected. right now i have the stock pcv system working. i dont burn any oil but i wanted to put a breather kit on for extra life on the motor. my suggestion is basically keeping the stock pcv system and then just using the port on the block towards the drivers side to the endyn catch can, then the port that is going to the back box from the back of the head to the can. my idea is that this would keep the pcv working at idle, then in boost, pressure could escape via the port on the block and on the back of the head. what do you guys think?

Why keep the stock pcv system i have the edyn breakter kit only on my b16 and it works fine at idle I mean i guess it will would but at high rpms your still gonna be useing the stock pcv which can cause problems. I'de use just the edyne.

well at high rpms wouldn't vacuum be cut off and then the ports would relieve pressure?

my endyn kit came with a filter and a pcv valve to go on top
imo you shouldn't have any problem running it like that

yeah mine came with it too. i mean i know the basic way to install it but i was just wondering if it would be a good idea to keep the black box and pretty much just run one of the ports and the port on the back of the head to the endyn can. this would keep the stock pcv system and allow me to run the endyn. so at idle i have vacuum via the stock pcv system, and then when in boost, vacuum would stop and then the pressure could exit the other ports to the can.

At Idle my vacume guage is around 20. And I use just the endyne catch can. Also Your gonna need to route your drain line to one of thoes fittins on the back of the block. Yes at high rpms your gonna releve pressure but theres still gonna get some pressure/ blow by excaping from the black box which believe defeats the purpose of the catch can due to the stock PCV will route the gas back into your motor. Are you trying to do this for emmision reasions or ?

im going to be doing something similar to what your talking about. im going to pull the box, then pull the pcv valve and jb weld a 3/8" hose barb in the hole, reinstall the box and then run a line from that and from the valve cover to a breather can. i know someone who is running it and he says it works pretty well. i dont plan on running over 300-330whp though. if i went to a higer whp setup, i would probably go for the full install.

to b16bri, yeah my vac is also around 20. i understand how to run it like you said. i guess i just wanted the best of both world. i wanted to have vacuum at idle from the stock pcv, but then at high rpms wanted to just be vented. plus i was gonna run another checkvalve between the intake mani and the pcv valve so no other pressure could go back into the crankcase. yeah my plan was to not run the drainback. but naw im not doing for emmission reasons.

to dscivicdx, i had that same idea too. larry from endyn was suggesting like that and said that i was on to a good idea. but yeah my power is a little higher than yours so i wanted to know what would be the best you know.

i have 96+ LS B20Z block and it doesnt have the hole that the top of the black box goes too. is there a way to re route the top of the black box to something else or are there other simple options that wont effect the overall life of the motor?

FYI. Doing B16A with B20 bottom end up to head. (How do i post pictures to this website? sorry im new
