Default Re: Which ems for me (adictionbass)

Congrat's on getting the ems.

I will put in my .02 for people viewing this thread and trying to make the same decision.

- If you are not tuning your own car & a neptune dealer is available to you, do neptune hands down. It'll run as good as hondata, is cheaper & has a bunch of cool options.

- If you are not tuning your own car & don't have access to a neptune dealer, Hondata is most likely your best option. There are alot of hondata tuner's around and almost all hondata cars run as good as stock. Mainly because it runs off the stock honda code and it is VERY easy to tune a hondata car. AEM is an option if you have a good aem tuner around but I know of quite a few tuners out there who will not touch the AEM.(not happy w/ the quality of the system being the main reason) Personally, I think an AEM car can run as good as a hondata car if you have the right tuner on the keyboard. It won't come nearly as easy as with hondata though, it'll take alot more time and alot more adjustments.

- If you are tuning your own car and your main goal is a good running car and are not too concerned w/ making changes on the fly, data aquisition and are not overly concerned with "features" then Hondata is for you. It is so easy to get a car running good on a hondata. Hondata is a great first time tuner ecu. AEM on the otherhand will not come easy to a new tuner. You'll have to go through a much bigger learning curve figuring out how to work through the system and get the engine running right. But, once you figure it out you will have alot of benefit's waiting for you.
