Default Which ems for me

Basic run down:
Built 2.0 gsr
Garrett t3 60-1
Rc 750s
Looking for 350 low boost, 400+ high.

I currently have a hondata S200 with boost and a chipped P28- untuned, just basemap. (about $700 invested)

Found a deal where i can trade my hondata and P28 + $550 for a new AEM EMS with egt sensor.

It is a second car and will probably see maybe 5000 miles a year. Plan on going to the track a few times a year, datalogging would be awesome, but i would have to add it to the hondata. The rev/launch controllers of the aem as well as the ability for me to change things on the fly without having to buy a chip burner and the hondata software also come into play.

The thing im afraid of if the complexity of the AEM system
Im also really low on cash nowadays

So what would you guys recommend for me?

1. stay with the hondata, get it tuned once, and let it go

2. stop being a little girl and get the aem ems

AEM EMS. Nothing beats standalone.

the thing that attracted me to the hondata a long while ago was the:
run the motor how honda intended with expanded maps for boost.
Supposedly better idle and such as well. I assume a good tuner would solve all the problems when using the aem unit tho...

the prob is that if i get the aem, then i dont have enough $$ to get the whole car finished. (exhaust, IC piping, and tunning). I can probably get by doing the IC piping myself without too much of a problem, maybe even the exhaust. (it'll save a few dollars)

Both are going to work great for you. I have had both, and the AEM has a lot more setings and is easier to change stuff on, but the hondata setup runs sooo smooth. My car ran smoother on hondata but it was (and is) a pain to burn chips. I'm currently running an s200b and I am happy with it.

well since i already have the hondata, wouldnt i be better off with that? I dont feel like i know enough about tunning to decide what to go with.

I really like the fact that i can just hook a laptop up to the AEM and be able to see/change everything.

Could i not do that with the AEM? Except i will have everything on the screen and be able to just change the setting and boom, its changed.

Seems like you would spend less money if you keep the hondata. It will work fine.

Is you hondata older than december? If so datalogging is only $50... newer than that and datalogging is free.

IMO for a 350-400hp setup you will not need AEM. Also as far as hondata vs. uberdata...hondata is a rip. It is the same thing as uberdata, but costs a buttload of money. If you are willing to learn to do some stuff yourself then uberdata is the way to go. Also there is no need to burn chips anymore with uberdata. For $175 you can get an ostrich and tune on the fly and for datalogging all you need to do is solder in a usb cable into your ecu. Also if you are going to just let someone tune the car for you, but don't feel the need to make any changes yourself like you can with aem then neptune is the way to go. Supposedely it is about as powerful as the aem system, but way cheaper.

yea, its older than december. It seems more expensive to buy datalogging, then the editor software, then the burner.

All this is if i even need to mess with it.
Cant i take my car to the tunner (jason hunt at ultimate) get it tunned and call it a day? How often do you guys actually go in and change your maps?

The one thing that concerns me is that hondata doesnt use any form of IAT sensor.

I make changes to my maps all the time. Since there is no IAT correction its good to go in and retune a little once it gets cooler or warmer outside. Also anytime you change something on your setup that is going to throw your afr off its a good idea to retune.
