Re: ek sleeper... top mount, back door IC, and A/C....
so heres how my last 24 hrs has been... work til 2am finishing the tunerview and wiring the boost controller correctly... on the road at 7:30 to get to mainstream, 2 hr drive... scotty's running late, so we eat and goof off for a little... finish up there at 2pm, eat and head 2.5hrs back south to go to import showdown in reynolds ga... get there as they are finishing the last round of finals... tech is closed, so up to the tower i go... i explain to the lady what a day it has been and she lets me go... final two cars race, im lined up to get in the burnout box and one guy hits the f'in wall!!!! just my luck!!! officials close the track because of cleanup... uggghhhhh!!!! so off to home a little over an hour away... unload and go make some street pulls on fresh drag radials... ahhhh, she feels nice, very nice....
going to play w/ the duty cycle on the boost controller to get full boost on the street, but its a handful... radials work really well...
440whp and 285ft/lbs...

oh, thats salt in the wound... yesterday i trailered to montgomery, an hour and a half away, get in line, do a nice 2nd gear burnout, which caught everyone by surprise... keep in mind this is a v8 track and i was the odd guy out, but either way i was there to race and i earned a little respect... i staged up, get on the launch control, light drops and BAM!!! f'in axle shaft... no biggie, push it back and go buy some axles... swapped it out and get back in line... get staged up, on the launch control and go fawk myself the other side broke... at that point i was thinking drag racing must not be for me... oh well, im getting it fixed in the morning and then im back off to the track on friday...

turned the first light on, pulled ebrake, drug it into the second light, flat footed it on the launch control, 6k, and i might have came off of the clutch a bit fast... i really figured the clutch would slip a little, CC ironman, but it didn't... oh well... i guess i will pay more attention next time...

and now awd...
so everything has worked perfectly on the car... its a total blast to drive and i have about 6000 miles on everything at this point... my only complaint is lack of traction... on street tires, toyo proxes4, it will blow the tires off at 75mph and like any other honda on street tires, launching at a light is a waste of rubber....
so, i have decided to go under the knife yet again... using a crv donor i have began to build my rear control arms... i will section the fuel tank to leave it in the stock location and i will probably have to redo the rear section of exhaust...
here is what i have done so far... talk about slow and tedious work...

i finished the other arm tonight, going to get the transmission tomorrow... looking forward to installing the rear diff, im going to use some energy suspension bushings and sleeves, along w/ a tubular crossmember... the gas tank is going to be a bitch... plans are to section it like the factory crv tank... now that i think about it, im going to go get the crv tank and see how close it fits!!!

shhhh.... its a secret, dont tell anyone... and keeping the appearance just like it is... do you think 4 drag radials will give it away... lol
i wonder if they will catch it in tech at IFO... can you imagine the **** storm that would create after the fact in a street fwd class... lol

Re: ek sleeper... top mount, back door IC, and A/C....
i sent my rear hubs to the machine shop... i ended up welding the 5 lug pattern up and then they will machine that flat and drill in the 4x100... the crv drums are bigger than the civic drums and since i wouldnt be able to weld up the holes in the drums, i began the search for something 4 lug... there are no 4x100 drums that have a 64.1mm hub bore that matched the crv hub bore... this is needed to keep the drum centered... a civic is 56.1mm hub bore... well my search netted me a 94 accord 4 lug... center bore is correct, the drum is a 4 lug version of the crv drum in every aspect, thus, allowing me to drill the 4x100 in the middle of the accord pattern...

Re: ek sleeper... top mount, back door IC, and A/C....
^^^im not making crazy power... i have looked at the oiling system and have hypothisized a way to eliminate the dual oil pumps and manually control the clutch via hydraulics... so when i want it engauged there is no delay... a clutch pack is only $170 so i'll probably throw the stock unit from the junkyard in and see how it works out, then if needed go from there... my instinct is that the clutches may wear, but if it will protect the rear driveline from shock loads it will be worth replacing it once a year or so...

Very nice build bro! I'm loving what you did so far and I like what your doing now even better! I know your trying to keep the sleeper look with the drums but why not go to rear disc? Wouldn't that be easier to make work and help you stop that beast at the end of the track. None the less i have a soft spot for sleepers, I'm trying to do the same thing with my sedan
