EGTS hitting 1600 degrees while going down the track!
Is this normal? The car is running great, but I can't help but notice the egts hitting 1600 at high boost (23lbs). I am using an Autometer guage and probe. It's not the cheap probe either ($99.00)
. What do you guy's think? Alex (GSRev) told me his hit's that high as we'll while going down the track.

Yeah but that's one pull. I'm talking about going down the track through 3, 4, and 5th gears at 1600 or more. Isn't 1500 something boing point for aluminum forged pistons?
My egt is right out of the cylinder head and yes it does tag the 1600 mark, but my air/fuels ratio is right on target. So don't go just by your temps. Check your plugs and look for signs of detenation.

Hmmm, I guess your right. Last thursday the car ran great, and the plugs looked good. I don't know, I guess i'm stuck with the thought of something going wrong around that temp.
