EGT probe not reading?
Ive done a search and cant find the info i need. Why would an EGT probe go bad? My friend has his wired correctly and installed it on his JDM 4-1 header on his integra, now its not giving any readings at all. Before the readings were too low, which was why he relocated it. He already had one go bad on him when he used to be turbo, now this is his 2nd one that failed. Thanks for the help guys.

all i can say is just double check the wiring. I know it sounds stupid but I always miss that stupid stuff
make sure its grounded too. But, you said its wired correctly so Ill take your word for it!

it could be a bad probe? maybe after u moved it from the original position, and tapping it into a closer one may have been damaged during this.
what brand egt do u have?
my friends r1 egt probe didnt work from the get go.

Re: EGT probe not reading? (KiddEng)
the wires are ran correctly, when the car is turned on the lights come on and all that bs. he double checked the wires this afternoon and everything is ran correctly, he didnt change anything and all of a sudden it started giving shitty values then none at all. I know he is a very careful mechanic so i doubt he beat up the sensor in the process of the relocation. It is a greddy probe used with the regular 52mm greddy mech egt gauge. what causes these probes to go bad?
