EGR hose question
I don't want to do a catch can just yet.
would it work alright if I tapped my filter and ran the hose straight to there? should function just like stock that way right? since that end is not pressurized.

Dude, you mean PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) not EGR.
You may run into problems doing it that way. A stragith tap will cause a vacuum and you will suck oil vapor into the turbo vs. the right way where air goes into the valve cover and out the accumulator on the back of the block.
If you want a temp fix, just use a little filter on the valve-cover. Its not the best but it will work.

Catchcan is really the best.
Filter is a temp fix and may back-up oil into it.
You can run the hose down to the ground and put a small filter on it.
You can install it like you suggest except make sure the tube is slash-cut and facing the intake flow. That will induce a positive pressure vs. a negative pressure. The bad news is depending on tube length and air velocity you may add too much pressure to the crankcase and cause excessive oil burning through the pcv.
Basically, if you are FI you gotta go catch can.

Damn...on my old set up..I just had a check valve on the end of a hose
worked fine for over a year though...I was just looking to find a better way.
