Coolant overflow tank.

There should be a line you fill it too. Mines pretty full.

its a coolant overflow tank... Its shouldn't be anywhere near full. I believe there is a maximum line on there... which shows the max amount of coolant which should be in there.

Yes there has to be coolant in the overflow tank. When the coolant gets hot it expands and needs somewhere to go. When the engine cools, it draws coolant back into the system to keep it full. Without this, air pockets would form in the system, which is bad.

Keep it full to the MAX line.

if there is no coolant you may have a problem... keep an eye on the level and see if it gets lower over time
