Default EG Turbo Question

I have a 94 Civic SI SOHC Turbo, i got some YCP Pistons (Low compression) With egal rods. i have not put them in. im boosting 8 PSI, my question is... Will i gain or loose HP if i instal these pistons? if i will loose HP what could i do to gain Major HP?

they're low compression for a reason... so you have the availibility to turn up the boost

Low compression pistons allow you to run more boost (aka make more power) on a certain grade fuel. If these YCP's are similar to stock (cast pistons) then i wouldn't go absolutely crazy with the power goal because they'll have the same failures as stock, which are the ringlands. There is a trade-off to lower compression. You're going to have slower off-boost acceleration with a lower static compression, but that is combatted by the ability to run more boost in the upper rpms.

i know about boosing more but the thing is what will i need to do to insure that im not gonna blow the motor up or how much boost could i push? do i need to build my head?

Dont expect much more than 300whp and you'll be fine...also the stock head will work for your needs.

i have those in my car with 1500 miles na and the car runs fine the only thing is the car sounds like a jetta tdi so if you think you spun a bearing or got a bad valve adjustment dont worry
