Default EF Top Mount Update

Some people were asking questions about my setup a few months ago and I really haven't had a chance to work on it since then. I finally dropped the motor back in tonight and mocked stuff up to take pictures again. Switching to the GSR block moved things around a little bit and the GSR oil pan interfered with my 4" down pipe. So there are still kinks to work out. Once the downpipe is fixed I'll throw the radiator back in to show those of you who were asking where it's going to go. Dadfab is currently working on making a hydro trans mount and I need injectors a few other small things. Should be up and running within a month though. Here's some pics:

Well your further than me then I have a sweet back door intercooler that has been sitting for about 6 months now. Cant wait to put it on.

That's a tough question, it's going to be tuned and ran on 100 unleaded, the closest gas station to me sells it so that works out nicely. I dont want to set my goals to high because this is the first engine I built and I dont honestly even know if it will run right but I would hope for 400-500whp and my goal from the begininng was a 10.99 or better.

Are you running the compressor inlet into the headlight housing area like a ram air set-up? Looks like it is going to be one killer setup!!

Yeah I need to trim a little more off that housing because the b18c pushed the head up a quarter inch. At the track I'm going to run a fiberglass headlight that funnels air into the turbo, on the street there is going to be a air filter 45 degrees off the outlet.

Everything looks good... Only thing I would have positioned differently (if possible) is the wastegate placement.

Thats the Tilton hydraulic release bearing, it's totally hydrauliclly actuated instead of a mechanical fork. Couple reasons people use them is because they always let out at the same spot, it makes a twin disc easier to control, and slave cylinders can heat up from downpipes and crap out.

That actually is the only spot it can go, there is about a fingers worth of room between everything. Can't go out any further on that spot because of the 4" DP and radiator, the other side has the pipe for the back door intercooler, and in the front is the intercooler. It's a tight squeeze.

Thats a nice setup. What turbo are you going with to push air into that Huge downpipe. Is there a reason you went so huge. I thought 3.5 was grand.

Just the SC61, I would imagine that it would make a difference once you near 500hp, I'm sure companies like full-race have put a lot of thought into it and if it wasn't necessary they wouldn't be selling it. Plus as far as I know it hasn't pulled off in a crx, go big or go home.

Is it a MUST to have a 4in exhaust? I wonder how much gain one gets from 3in vs. 4in.

Funny you say that, cause I was just remembering back about 2 or 3 years ago when I stopped by Whip Factory and the hoodless white CRX was sitting in front. Man that was a long time ago, Leo from PasswordJDM was still combined with Dave's shop back then.

Looks like you're cheating that bend on that 4" downpipe.

I know there's not much room, but your setup is DAMN clean otherwise.
