For the ecu guru's: secondary o2 sensor
for the obd2 motors, the secondary sensors are after the cat.
Does anyone know what voltage signal the ecu must receive in order for the cat light on the dash to stay off? I have unplugged mine atm. The problem is that the cat light on the dash lights up since its unplugged.
What resistance must I put in the line to get the light off?

not sure about resitance or whatever but i remember back in the day we used to leave it plug on the connector, but take it out of the exh system. wrap it with alum foil, put a hose clamp on the foil, then hose clamp the o2 sensor to the shifter stabilizer bar

Re: For the ecu guru's: secondary o2 sensor (Dturbocivic)
yeah but because i dont want to do that, i want to jsut wire a resister in the line to clear the error.
hence anyone know what resistance i need?

Re: For the ecu guru's: secondary o2 sensor (freakie)
The Subaru guys are using a mechanical fix of 2 spark plug anti foulers to move the O2 sensor out of the hole a litle bit.
I'm not sure how it works exactly, but moving it out of the exhaust stream causes the sensor to produce the correct voltage. I'm wondering if this works on all OBD II Cars?
Might be worth looking into.

More often than not, this does work regardless of the car.

you need to make a O2 Sensor Simulator
here is the info you need

you can also buy premade simulators...thats what I use. But you still have to have the sensor plugged in to complete the heater circuit and not have CEL.

just get a simulator and wrap the sensor in foil and color the foil in black somehow and hide it.
can't be too careful with CA cops to leave shiny foil exposed.
