eagle rods d16z6 clearance
does any have this setup? or similar? when they installed the rods, they seem to rub against the cylinder walls (stock bore). they said I have to get the rods grinded down. but why would they sell eagle rods for d series, if i have to end up grinding down?
You have to notch the block, NOT the rods!!!!! You have to grind away some of the walls on the bottom so the rods will clear.
If you engine builder didn't know he need to notch the block for d16 then maybe you might want to go somewhere else.

yes he is right u have to notch the block at the bottom so that the rods clear. be very careful if u do it ureself..i went through one block doin this threw it right in the garbage. went through into the water jacket. oops. good thing single cam block are a dime a dozen...
I am building a D16Y8 with Eagle rods, I will have to notch the block too? I planned on putting the block together myself, can I have the machine shop notch it for me when I have the block hot tanked, and honed? How much would it cost you think?
I am ordering the rods from you Ben. I am ryanverriest@yahoo.com.
So with a certain variation of the rod you don't have to notch the block? Is there a downside to this? If not, would you be able to send me that variation of the Eagle?
