That's not good. You need to use plastigauge and make sure you have the correct bearings.

i think is talking about the thrust washers.
if you dont have this, your crank will move side to side.

there is always a little side to side play once the rod is installed onto the crank.

if you look in the service manual there is a spec.

Rod end play is supposed to be between 0.15-0.30mm for a B18C, with a service limit of 0.40mm. I'd think the B16A2 specs will be close/or same.

i have the same problem you did also but on an ls block. i thought the rods maybe thinner but measure to be the same as stock rods. i remember measuring the specs and it had way more clearance

Typical response. People have no clue what they are responding to, but they are always quick to blame the ACLs around this place. Too much OEM bearing bandwagon riders around here.

And just so you know, ACL's are available in three sizes. I have never had an issue with durability or clearances using ACL bearings.

Did you put the rods on WITH the bearings installed or without the bearings installed? I certainly hope you didn't put them on with the bearings installed and then moved them side to side dry. If so, you can pretty much write those bearings off.

i hate my motor, it make to much noise on cold morning start. after warmup it make a very light tap in the block if you listen very carefully. motor is still running and been through many dyno passes.

Dry and in no assembly lube. You should have wiped it clean also since the oil will attract dust/dirt which will not be good for the bearings.
