No i never heard of that. What i am worrying about do they hold up. I been reading some horrifying stories on here. Maybe your question is toward how to keep them holding up instead of breaking.

On stock pistons the wrist pins need to be pressed in. With Eagle Rods and and aftermarket pistons like JE/SRP you can push them in by hand, they do not need to be pressed. 28 ft lbs was the recommended torque spec for mine also I believe. DO NOT use ANY other spec than what was provided with your Rod bolts. This is the reason so many have claimed problems with the Eagles that redturbocivic's post referred to. Every rod that had been sent back to Eagle was broken due to improper installation, usually improper rod bolt torquing. If you overtorque them, they will break, if they are under torqued them, they will back off and fall out, both scenerios obviously very bad. The best way to install them is to check the bolt stretch specs, but it is not required, I didn't do it for my build up because I don't have the tool. I just used a digital Snap On torque wrench, very accurate. Also, make sure to use the provided ARP lube on the bolts. Motor oil changes the torque specs!

Good luck with your build up,
Ryan
