Default Need quick advice please!

Hey guys I found JE pistons and Eagle rods for $450. Sounds like a great deal to me, but don't Eagle rods have an issue with the rod bolts backing out? Is there a way to fix this? Should I use other rod bolts? Any/all help would be very much appreciated. Should I jump on this? They've been used for 1,000 miles. He said he's decided to go with a different setup.

Thanks

eagle rods are fine. IF you install them properly. you can upgrade the rod bolts on the eagle rods if you dont feel comfortable with them.

Thank you sir. I was just reading another thread about this and there were mixed replies in there.

Would those be a worthwhile upgrade? Can I use those with no modification?

My mech makes 550whp in his daily driven civic and has stock eagle rods and bolts. I made close to 400whp with eagle bolts daily drivin.

We talked about the bolt upgrade but dont really need it unless you plan to rev above 9000 and making over 400whp daily driving!

good deal!

Feeling better about my purchase. I ended up buying them Looked absolutely mint in the pictures, hopefully they are. Now all I need is some new rings...they were only used for 1k miles but I don't want to take any chances.

I'm only going to be boosting 8psi on the streets and 10-12 at the track, so they should hold up. This is also in a LS motor, so I wont be revving high.

Thanks man The block is going to be hot tanked and bored .20 over. It's also getting new gaskets/seals/bearings.

Should I replace the rod bearings as well or keep the ones they have? I was going to get the ACL bearing kit.

Mine had all those things but I still stayed with stock oem bearings as did my mech. So I dont see a need to spend extra money if you dont have to. Just like the pro drive oil gears I had, BLAH, stock is just as good. STAY AWAY from unorthadox crank pulleys = death to engine

Thanks for the advice I've also heard bad things about unorthodox pulleys.
