Any reason you want to go without a IC setup? if you ride on the street I suggest you get a IC?

if you ride with a massive turbo and only 1/4 Mile with methanol you will get away without...

^^ I dont think those vechicles would make it in a daily driven situation. Why not get a intercooler. Just get a ebay one better than nothing.

gringotegra:

Dont give him the wrong idea, the meth injection will cool the charge air a LOT, he is also using a big turbo, and as u see he only run 1/4 mile at the time.

I said in the earlier posts that is possible..

I assume the "poster" have a DAILY driven car... were driving without a IC makes no sence other that heated charge air and possible knock or detonation...

You need an Intercooler with E85 its not Methanol, pretend the stuff is gas and plan accordingly.

The meth are cooling the charge air a LOT, I calculated the temp drop based on the amount of sprayed meth per second and air temp, but dont remember or have the sheet here now.

The thing is, yes meth injection will work as an air cooler, but meth also make aluminum corrode or infact eats the way through aluminum, steel componens will rust....
you have aluminum head, aluminum ports, and steel valves and velveseats.. I se a lot of maintenance if Daily driven, also a tank of meth is not going to last forever, what do you do when you are empty?

Buy a cheap IC instead, of go with a okey brand.... drop the illution of meth injection at the road, it is not worth the effort.....

has anybody with a honda tried this out and recorded some data?

i just want to see what will happen without an intercooler, since there will be no pressure variation throughout the piping. and i figured the e85 would help drop the iats down enough so that it wouldn't be dangerous with a small amount of boost.

As I stated E85 does not have the cooling properties of Methanol, it burns cooler than gas but its not going to chill the Intake Charge like running Meth or spraying it will..... nobody has done it because its widely known that it does not have the same properties of Methanol, a used Intercooler for a small hp app can be had for $200 or so.

My IAT's are high with a large intercooler and E85, and since I see you live in TX I wouldnt even think twice about not running an Intercooler.
